Obama's layers of stupidity -- the 'I'm in awe of it' edition
Last week my 13 y/o stepson (at that wonderous age where they know, know, exactly everything about anything) decided to tell his dad (my husband) he had the solution to high gas prices at the pump -- have the government take over the oil companies and pass a law lowering the prices. Husband blinked a couple of times, then said "I suggest you go read an econ book and get back to me."
Now, we tolerate such stuff from 13 year olds, it kinda comes with the territory of herding teens toward adulthood.
How do we explain Obama?

Everybody’s watching what’s going on in Beijing right now, at the Olympics. Think about the amount of money China has spent on infrastructure. Their ports, their trains systems, their airports are vastly superior to us now which means if you’re a corporation deciding where to do business you’re starting to thing “Beijing looks like a pretty good option.” Why aren't we doing the same thing?
Heh.

You're comparing spending on infrastructure with nationalization of companies? Every now and again I venture out into the righty blogs; this reminds me why I rarely do anymore. It's funny to laugh at the retards, but also kind of saddening that this is probably the best the right has to offer.

JPE
It's called Obama has no clue on either China or how to run a business. He has never run anything besides his mouth.
I expect ignorance from a 13 y/o, but from a Democrat nominee for President?
O! is an idiot that said specifically he did not care if raising capital gains tax rates meant a drop in revenue, he was more interested in "fairness"
(aka theft)

If they're so superior, then why did the Chinese prohibit imports of any hazardous materials one month prior to the Olympics? This was for all imports, not just those going to Beijing or the surrounding area. We send lamp materials, some of which have small amounts of heavy metals or radioactives in them, to several customers in China, and we had to have everything sent to them a month before the start of the Olympics.
Now there's confidence in your internal security measures. Can you imagine the U.S. doing something like this?
