October - Pink is in

If you've noticed a sudden blossoming of pink everywhere -- ribbons, pins, cards ... it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

One of my attorney's underwent a masectomy last year ... and tough cookie that she is, nagged the rest of us women to have our annual mammograms.

She has organized a Pink Scarf drive; also with various levels of nagging. I picked up the crochet hook about a week ago and have already made two scarves.

I'd show you a picture, but somewhere I've misplaced the USB line that goes with my cheapie digital camera!

:::grumble::::

Nice side effect. It's been a while since I've communed with yarn and needles and I'm loving it!

I'm working frantically on a scarf, I'll get it to you as soon as I can. Probably last minute but still.

My alma mater, University of Illinois, is hosting a fundraiser for local breast cancer organization, and they are having all of the basketball fans purchase a pink t-shirt as their ticket into the Midnight Madness kick-off for the college basketball season. So far, over 12,000 sales.
