Fire season ablaze in So Cal

Malibu is burning.

MALIBU, Calif. - A wildfire driven by powerful Santa Ana wind threatened a university and forced the evacuation of hundreds of homes in the Malibu Hills on Sunday, authorities said. Flames destroyed a church and several homes, one of them a landmark castle.
The Santa Anas woke me about 2am last night and are still blowing hard. It's "redflag warning" for all of the So Cal area as the winds tend to bust powerlines and that sparks fires. I don't live in LA county, but even my inland canyon location is under alert.

Heard the sirens from the fire department up the block from me as they left the station. The streets right now are eerily light of traffic.

Winds are forecast for next couple of days. Humidity right now is about 11%.

Here's hoping that forecast is wrong.
