Democrats salute the Red, White and Blue Green

Gotta love the graphic of Texas and Mexico as one country. Hmmm... promoting illegal voting in the US? Promoting Reconquista?

Amazing.

Do I get to question their patriotism now?

Ummm .. yeah, you're a little off-base. Just strikes me as standard-issue marketing. You position yourself to appeal to an audience. No more.

Really? Do tell. What other voter pamphlets has the Democratic Party put out that links a foreign country with either the US as a whole or a state in particular?

I'm not dismissing the marketing as being cynically exploitive and I do admit being deliberately provocative, but I think the pamphlet is a legitimate object of criticism.

Do you honestly think that no one would pay attention to a GOP sanctioned voter pamphlet showing Israel as the 51st state of the US (or a state as part of Israel) with the "let's work together VOTE Republican" would be casually written off by the pro-'Palestinian' Left?

Whose patriotism are you questioning, Darleen? I hope it's not the patriotism of the crowd in the immigration rally photos.

I was part of that crowd yesterday for about five hours. I didn't see anyone promoting Reconquista. I saw genuine expressions of love for the American Dream. I saw families begging us to let them stay and work.

These Hispanic people weren't plotting overthrow or secession. They were registering to vote. They were exercising the right of free speech, which our courts have ruled applies to them as well as to citizens.

Surely you are not questioning my patriotism, are you? I was in that crowd. I also served my country during the Vietnam War. I didn't get the chance to serve in combat and win three Purple Hearts. But I did serve during wartime.
And yesterday I exercised two of those rights I volunteered to defend 35 years ago.

John

I'm listening right now to a spokeshole for one of the organizing groups of these demonstrations, By Any Means Necessary on Michael Medved who is being quite open in his groups aims

OBLITERATION of any distinction between legal and illegal immigrants. Luke Massey is repeating himself that ANYONE that comes across the border at ANYTIME should immediately be "legal" and welcome to all benefits including the right to Vote.

If you have any sympathy for this group, then yes, I would question your patriotism.

Darleen,

The organizer of Sunday's rally in Dallas was the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). Dallas and Fort Worth newspapers referred to it repeatedly as the LULAC rally.

I can find no reference anywhere linking BAMN to the Dallas rally. They had no speakers in Dallas. They may be sponsors elsewhere, but I don't think they had anything to do with LULAC's rally here. I would not be surprised if groups tried to claim sponsorship after the fact. The rally was an outstanding success.

LULAC's stated purpose for the Dallas rally was to oppose HR4437. Along with George W. Bush and John McCain, I do not support HR4437 as it is written. That's why I participated in the rally yesterday, and I'm proud that I did.

I do not appreciate having my patriotism questioned.

Why is it that the Republicans need such a bogymen organizer behind these protests? Apparently, the ability of Latinos to communicate and organize is unbelievable to you.

What "boogey" man?

These "demonstrations" have been organized by a coalition of Left to Far Left organizations with an agenda that has little to do with "justice" no matter the overblown rhetoric they post on their websites.

Geez, what is it about "google" that is beyond you?

John

While LULAC may have been the main organizer in Dallas, they have been working in concert with other organizations such as ANSWER, BAMN, 'The World Can't Wait' and others under the banner of coalitions like April 10 and Immigrant Solidarity

Lay down with dogs and all that...

"While LULAC may have been the main organizer in Dallas, they have been working in concert with other organizations such as ANSWER, BAMN"

Sorry, Darleen, but I don't agree that LULAC is working in concert with BAMN just because the latter makes references to the rally of the former.

I think it is incorrect to charge 500,000 people with being unpatriotic because an organization not involved with their protest makes some post-event claim about the goal of that rally and those 500,000 people.

In my opinion, the right of those 500,000 people to organize and peacefully protest a proposed government action is exactly what my relatives and I volunteered to defend when we served our country.

"Really? Do tell. What other voter pamphlets has the Democratic Party put out that links a foreign country with either the US as a whole or a state in particular?"

Was this really put out by the democratic party? wow.
