ATTENTION - Please pass on
As I've stated before, I'm a government worker. Got the following information through official channels this afternoon. You don't have to read between the lines to have a shiver go right up your spine. This comes straight from the California Office of Emergency Services
Sent: Wednesday, August 31, 2005 12:29 PMMy thanks to Jody who got my email earlier and has already posted this on her blog, too.
Subject: Rescue Line for VictimsState OES has learned that trapped victims on the Gulf Coast are calling family, friends, loved-ones, or anyone they can get a call out to in California asking for someone to rescue them. These requests need to go immediately to the US Coast Guard's Rescue Line at 800-323-7233 and immediate assistance will be sent.
Please distribute this information as widely as possible.
Thank you.
