I'm tired of the lies

The next person I hear sneer about "GW Bush's law that allows hospitals to kill patients that cannot pay their bills" will be b*tchslapped by me and I'll happily pay the misdemeanor fine.

Ironic, that some spreading this libel via cut-n-paste from nihilist pro-death sites didn't even have a clue what the phrase "Section 166" was. Funny, since they keep repeating it means "No money for the bill? YOU DIE!!"

Read here. And Brad? Knock yourself out finding the "death penality for a due bill" portion here.

Otherwise SHUT THE F**K UP. I'm am fed up to HERE with the GLEE people are taking in Terri's unnatural dying.

Darleen,
Was Sun Hudson's family allowed a review by medical experts (as required under this Section 166) before they pulled the plug on their baby boy?
If that's your point, then score one for your team. My point was that the Texas Futile Care bill passed under then-Governor Bush. Do you want to show some evidence that this is not true?

And what makes you think this case fills me with glee? Again, you are emotionally overreacting to every aspect of this rather than looking at this case with a legal mind.

Look, I don't know about you, but I respect our separation of powers under the U.S. Constitution. Do you?

Brad

And where is your proof that the law wasn't followed?

BTW, the law GW signed in 1999 was restricted to adult patients. It was revised in 2003 to include pediatric. If I recall correctly, GW wasn't Governor then was he?

BTW, do you know what the procedures were BEFORE 166 was passed??

Jaysus on a Pony, Brad, you can get very wearying to an old body like me when you can't do the simplest of google searches just because they'll interfere with your prejudices.

Maybe the law was followed...but that wasn't my point. My point was that GW contradicts himself by supporting one law that allows terminal patients to be taken off life support (pending review of medical experts) in Texas, but he overrules medical experts in this case to side with the "culture of life." This is a president who says "it's best to always err on the side of life"..but when he was governor, he not only signed the original version of the Futile Care Law, he signed the death warrants of 152 convicted men and women.
