All brand, no nutrition - update

Obama badmouths NAFTA while one of his aids whispers to concerned Canadians "don't worry, he doesn't really mean it.".* Obama claims to be pro-Israel, but his friend over at "Electronic Intifada" believes it's just a repeat of his 2004 Senate run when Obama had to placate Jooooos to win -- he assured Ali Abunimah

"Hey, I’m sorry I haven’t said more about Palestine right now, but we are in a tough primary race. I’m hoping when things calm down I can be more up front.”

Obama's speech on race was supposed to "open a dialogue" but its false moral equivalency of his maternal grandmother to Rev. Wright and assertions of the "stain of original sin of slavery" was more demagoguery than dialogue. Obama continues to claim to be a unifier, with no actual history of being one. He waves off such criticism by saying
[A]s president, I would be setting the terms of debate.

Obama claims to be a "pragmatic progressive", but his supporters
say he is ready for a new, self-assured era in which progressives (few have returned to using the word “liberal”) make no apologies about their goals — universal health care, withdrawing troops from Iraq, ending tax breaks for more affluent Americans.

What has Obama done to earn any voter's trust?

UPDATE* there seems to be some controversy over just what was said when an Obama staffer, met with Austan Goolsbee, [met with] the Canadian Consulate General**. It is interesting to note that the Obama camp at first refused to answer questions, then denied the meeting ever took place, then confessed, yes a meeting took place but nothing of the sort was said. However, the original story dealt with a phone call to the Canadian ambassador, something that the Obama camp still denies and that "Sources at the highest levels of the Canadian government -- who first told CTV that a call was made from the Obama camp -- have reconfirmed their position." Regardless of the Clinton camp's exploitation of this issue, they didn't make it up.

And certainly, Obama's ties to the Electronic Intifada are much more troubling.

While I am sure you are not one to let something as insignificant as the facts get in the way of a good rant, the fact is you and the voters of Ohio were bamboozled by the Clinton campaign; it was not the Obama campaign that reached out to assure the Canadians that the harsh rhetoric on NAFTA was mere electoral demagoguery; it was the Clinton campaign.

I guess you missed that part while you were ducking sniper fire in Bosnia with Clinton... or was it celebrating "Jewish Halloween" with McCain...

I thought we put this to rest. It was the CLINTON folks who approached the Canadians with their subrosa dictum to make sure our neighbors didn't worry about Hillary's negativity toward NAFTA. This is another example of the nefarious and Machiavellian Clinton tactics.

If you're going to have a blog, at least be informed. It was the Clinton campaign that gave the old wink, wink, nudge, nudge to the Canadians. And it was Hillary who was for Nafta, but secretly opposed it when it was passed but now is not secretly opposed to it anymore because now she realizes how bad an idea it was even though she vigorously promoted it at the time, but not really because she was dead set against it. Or whatever.

The kindergarden blogs are listed together on Google. Your blog needs to go there because your apparently unable to have open debate with adults. Your rant is filled with so many inconsistances that it makes one want to hurl their morning coffee.
If you want to deal with facts we can.
My candidate is Obama so the questions I will pose have to do with Clinton.
Why did she lie about dodging sniper fire in Bosnia?
Why did she lie about her stand on NAFTA? When the facts show she was nothing short of a cheerleader for this?
Why is she now trying to say that Obama disenfranchised the people in MI and FL when she voted to disenfranchise them and only when she is now losing this race, they matter? Politics or real concern?

You want to play with the adults and have credibility? Then play by adult rules otherwise your just some mouth who runs to the internet because you have no one in real life who cares what you have to say.

And how would you define "pragmatic progressive" Darleen?

To my mind Obama has a liberal voting record and I'm not embarrased by it. We need universal health care. We need to get our of Iraq. And we can no longer afford to skew tax breaks to the top 1%.

To suggest that these stands are not pragmatic is to imply that the status quo is OK. Are you OK with the status quo? Do you think, contrary to opinion polls, that most American are?

Looks like Darlene has been smoking a few bowls of her own cereal up in the blogospere. Goolsbee is an aide (yes it's spelled with an e on the end) to the Obama campaign. Not the Canadian Consulate General as you say in your time warped update. This story is almost as old and discredited as the Obama is a Muslim smear email. Maybe you can move on and help John McSame figure out if the Sunni's are related to the Hatfields. Or is the McCoys?

Ha ha. Austan Goolsbee now works for Canada?

It's always a bad sign when aids are whispering, Hopemonger. It means they're getting restless and the patient might need a new combination of protease inhibitors to quell an aids rebellion.

Darleen, just stick to the photoshops and leave the facts to the grown-ups.

It's always fun to watch the Democrats eat their own. When it's Hillary it's even more fun.

What will they do when Hillary takes this nomination from Obama? Oh, it will be fun to watch.

Interesting how they are all trashing Shrillary. They seem more emotionally charged against Billary than they are for Messiah Obama. The super delegate voting should be fun.

Darlene Darlene Darlene...did Hillary let you out of your box today to come visit? Do you think no one knows your paid by the Clinton machine to spew their stink all over the net? Everyone is well aware that the only to win this race is to break Obamas back so this is just one of the insidious means they employ...Faked blogs that are ran by "normal" people".....Tell Wolfie and Mark Penn that their big pay days are almost over...it is showing that the Clinton machine is running out of $$$$ because people are not sending money for her to pay Penn's company 6 milllion dollars a month like she did in Feb. and Jan.
She works for Clinton folks. Don't doubt it for a minute.

OMG they're insane.

The photoshop is great Dar, really catches the "lightweight" nature of the Obama rhetoric. But then again what do I know? Im just a typical white person and racism is inbred in my genetic make-up.

Posted by: Jane at March 25, 2008 09:52 PM

Let me guess these are the same people who think Bush bombed the world trade center. Blame any unpleasent truth on a vast right wing conspiracy while ignoring the actual conspiracy that is threatening their lives.

Posted by: Jane at March 25, 2008 09:54 PM

I work for Hillary??? I'm a "fake" blogger?

Brian, sweetcheeks, you don't get out much do you?

Or is the incense wafting around from you latest Obamessiah worship service keeping you from looking at my archives?

BWAHAHAH! Best.Troll.Line.Evah!

Posted by: Darleen at March 25, 2008 10:19 PM

Brad

Obama wants to double the capital gains (from 15 to 33%) get rid of the 10% bracket (all those people would now pay over 15%) plus rachet each tax bracket up 3 points a piece. The top bracket of 39% moves taxes into the confiscatory realm.

Yeah, that's all going to keep the economy running.

But that's not what proggs want. They WANT to destory capitalism. Politics of envy -- if you can't be successful, then damnation no one can be successful.

The Left -- the juvenile party.

I'm almost starting to think I was too hard on Paultards. These Obama cultists are every bit as bad, and I didn't think it was possible.

ALL HAIL HYPNOBAMA!!!

Brian, I find your ideas intriguing, and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Tool.

I love the Photoshop, Darleen. That's just too funny! And part of an unbalanced breakfast!
