We pause a moment ...

... for a bit of parental pride.

Number one daughter received her degree in nursing tonight.

She'll be starting as an ICU nurse next month.

Congratulations to the new nurse and her parents. We need more good nurses, and we need them fast.

Where did she go to school (ADN? BSN?) Where's she going to work - CA?

Intensive care can be a very good start for a new grad when there's a good preceptor program. I hope she'll get the support that she needs to ramp up her skills.

Another upside - she'll always have a job, and there are a million and one different ways to practice.

Please give her my best wishes, and thanks if you did anything to help direct her education/career choice.

PS - Hope she doesn't wait too long to start in on a masters'.

Cue Montgomery Burns voice: "Excellent"

This may come across as very sexist, but I have to say that I'm glad I don't work with her.

I would be too distracted by her wonderful beauty to get anything done at all. I'd be running into things because she'd be turning my head all day.

Anyhoo, congratulations are certainly in order.

Carl,

You're aware that names are displayed *under* the posts, right?

Oops. But I can still plead age and infirmity.
