« Bollinger's 'intro' of Ahmadinejad was spot on - BUT | Main | Ahmadinejad speaks at Columbia? It's a JOOOO conspiracy!! »

It.Did.Not.Matter.

by Pulitzer-winning political cartoonist, Michael Ramirez

All of Columbia's dissembling on commitment to "free speech" and "hard-nosed debate" in order to show Ahmadinejad for "what he truly is" -- Columbia's invitation was an honor for him and not one bit of "unpleasantness" would be allowed to seep into any Islamist coverage. Here it is from the Islamic Republic (sic) News Agency:

Despite entire US media objections, negative propagation and hue and cry in recent days over IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's scheduled address at Colombia University, he gave his lecture and answered students questions here on Monday afternoon.

On second day of his entry in New York, and amid standing ovation of the audience that had attended the hall where the Iranian President was to give his lecture as of early hours of the day, Ahmadinejad said that Iran is not going to attack any country in the world.

Before President Ahamadinejad's address, Colombia University Chancellor in a brief address told the audience that they would have the chance to hear Iran's stands as the Iranian President would put them forth.

He said that the Iranians are a peace loving nation, they hate war, and all types of aggression.

Referring to the technological achievements of the Iranian nation in the course of recent years, the president considered them as a sign for the Iranians' resolute will for achieving sustainable development and rapid advancement.

The audience on repeated occasion applauded Ahmadinejad when he touched on international crises.

At the end of his address President Ahmadinejad answered the students' questions on such issues as Israel, Palestine, Iran's nuclear program, the status of women in Iran and a number of other matters.

A bit narcissistic to think that speaking at an American university increases Ahmadinejad's stature significantly. The world doesn't really care.

Darleen

you're pissed because you wanted to get down on your knees and suck off Ahmadinejad's cock & swallow and lick his jizz off his throbbing cock.

You're not fit to have Ahmadinejad spread his hairy ass over your face & shit down your throat, tho we all know that you would gladly swallow it slowly ass you savored his stinking warm turd.

[poster is commenting from outside of the USA, so make of this weirdness what you will...but a braindead troll actually typing is an amazing thing ..... ed.]

Terrible trolling. 0/10.

Frankly ... I believe the guy should have been arrested as soon as he landed in this country - but that's just me. ;)

Anyone else notice how the guy regurgitated Democratic talking points? Or ... wait ... are they really HIS talking points that the Democrats "borrowed" because they're so intent on selling this country to the Islamofascists simply because they dislike GW THAT much??

Inquiring minds want to know.

Posted by: Vercingetorix at September 25, 2007 07:13 PM

Which Democratic talking points were those?

Posted by: Josh at September 26, 2007 07:36 AM

Democratic Talking points ...

1. US has lost war in Iraq.
2. Bush "bugs" his own people.
3. Bush should take care of Katrina victims and get out of Iraq. (By the way I AM a Katrina victim - my house flooded 6 feet - and I lost everything - I'm fine though - and don't need any more help from the government even though the Dems insist that I do.)
4. There were no weapons of mass destruction ... blah, blah, blah (as if that somehow makes a difference at this point).
5. The American people are against the war.
6. Republicans will lose in '08 if they don't get out now.

THOSE talking points. I find it particularly telling that he repeatedly mentions Katrina - as if he really gives a damn by the people who were affected by that storm. Most of us who were thumped by that storm are infidels - so I'm sure he's happy and believes it's some kind of just punishment for us.

Bottom line - he parrots the Democratic party line pretty much spot on. No doubt in my mind who he'd vote for in '08 if he could vote. :)

Those statements are true, by and large. Bush's failures are well-established at this late date. Does pointing them out become wrong because someone you don't like did so?

Posted by: Josh at September 27, 2007 06:38 AM

The statements aren't true Josh. First, we aren't losing in Iraq. Have you been there? I have - two tours - shot at people, been shot at BY people. I've seen an IED go off up close and personal. Have you? So when the Dem's say we're losing - that's bullshit and it has been since day one - and it's especially true now since the surge began.

Bush doesn't bug his own people - oh, well he does - but there are checks and balances on that. And it's the Democrats who don't want him to tap into conversations that are routed through the US but both parties on each end of line are NON-US citizens actually physically located in foriegn countries. The Dems want to give bill of rights protections to foreign terrorists overseas (which is why I often refer to them as the terrorist's rights party). So yes, the Dem's says "Bush bugs his own people" because that benefits the Iranian fool and it's no wonder he picks up on it and recites it too.

KATRINA - that talking point is false. Because what the government has left to do here on the Gulf Coast can be accomplished concurrently with the war in Iraq. If you want to save money because you don't think we can do both - then cut the Congressional funds that are going to the "John Dingle Shrine". You don't have to cut the war effort at all though.

There were no weapons of mass destruction - well, none that we found anyway - but that doesn't mean a hill of beans at this juncture. That's ancient history. It's irrelevant now and only the Dems and the Iranian fool keep bringing this up? They are certainly are in synch here - eerily.

The American people are against the war. Also irrelevant - since Americans are fickle. They were overwhelming in favor of it when it began and so were the Dems - who VOTED to prosecute it! And they'll be in favor of it again when we win it (You just watch and see Josh!) :).

Republicans will lose in '08 if we don't get out now - also untrue - since virtually ALL of the leading Democratic Presidential candidates also failed to commit to pulling out the troops if they were elected President. That happened just last night. In fact, I believe Hillary has the same position as GW on the war right now (at least this week - she flips and flops so who knows what this will look like next week).

So very little truth in the talking points that Amadinejad recited - but they WERE verbatim with what the Dems have been saying. :)

One other note - what's funny to me - in a sick way - is the way liberals seem to think that installing a democracy in a country is like ordering a happy meal at the drive through at McDonalds. I'd like to see a commercial with Pelosi and Dingy Harry in a car - and they drive up and order "Freedom in Democracy in Iraq - Supersize Please! With a Coke!"

Then they actually bitch the girl out at the window when they don't have it by the time they drive around.

We're going to be in Iraq for decades folks. And we need to be - we need to keep American interests relevant in the middle east and leaving the country to Iran is not the answer - just absolutely not the answer.

We're still in South Korea ...

Still in Germany ...

Still in Japan ...

Still in Bosnia (and it was Bill Clinton that put us there).

Iraq may just end up in the same category. But just like all those other places - the stakes are too high for us to leave.

And that is the truth the Liberals cannot face - that, and the prospect that Bush may actually have done the right thing here. ;)

Verc, you're a Reich Winger so your personal experience and first hand knowledge mean nothing compared to the troofiness of the enlightened narrative. Haven't you listened to Olbermann, dude?

Sorry to hear about your crib.

Anecdotes aren't data, Vercingetorix. Other soldiers disagree with your views, and presumably also have the absolute moral authority that so impresses little Pablo. Why are you right and they wrong?

I note that you now concede the truth of many of Ahmenidijad's statements, and are now attempting to dodge that simple fact and argue instead that they are irrelevant, which itself is irrelevant to the proposition that I asserted initially.

Finally, please let me know how many lives and how much money we are losing each month in Korea, Bosnia, Germany, and Japan, so that I might determine whether your analogy is apt or faulty.
