The devil and Mr. Chavez

by Michael Ramirez

It occurs to me that if the Dictator Troll was complaining about the odor of sulfur ...

He might lay off the black beans and rice a bit.

Or shower once in a while.

The troll is a bit ripe.

I'm curious. Where do you get the factoid that he doesn't shower? Perhaps he bathes instead. Benjamin Franklin was partial to "air bathes" and suggested all participate.

Black beans cause no bodily problems for most. It's the refrieds that factually make the joke happen. Have you had a *bad* experience with the *black* ones?

You seem to be expanding the meaning of the word *troll* -- I guess I can say that I saw it here first.

Thanks for that.

Not to mention the meaning of the word "dictator."

I meant troll in the classic sense of a nasty little creature ...

And Chavez IS a dictator, also in the classic sense. He has written a law that jails anyone that criticizes him or his government.

Guess the irony of his coming to the US to denounce President Bush as an enemy of democracy and rights whizzes right past you, Josh.

Nope. According to the US State Department, Venezuela is a constitutional democracy.

Therefore not a dictatorship, and therefore Chavez is not a dictator. A ridiculous egomaniac with authoritarian tendencies, yes. Dictator, no. Why is it so difficult for Rightists to appreciate these not-so-subtle distinctios?
