Things that make you go 'hmmmmmm'

Actor/Director/Film maker Mel Gibson is arrested for DUI (and is later charged). He mouthes off in the most vile, despicable manner. His words are unexcusable. When sober, he makes two, unequivocal and humble apologies then backs those apologies up with behavior substantiating his sincere desire to control his alcoholism.

Faced with a Catholic who sins, the MSM flogs the story more than the one where a moslem invades Jewish Federation offices and shoots five, murdering one.

The leftside of the blogsphere writes of Gibson-as-nazi (one LATimes writer drags out the Hitler comparison) with such utter glee and hyperbolic outrage one can be forgiven if one entertains notions about their motivation.

Wonder no more.

Compare their "moralizing" at Gibson with how progressives Jane Hamsher and US Senate candidate Ned Lamont (via Michelle Malkin) are handling the Joe Lieberman in blackface affair. Gotta love this "unequivocal and humble apology" from Lamont.

I don't know anything about the blogs, I'm not responsible for those, I have no comment on 'em...Independent blogs, I can't say anything about it.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.

The press going towards press and not at the Seattle shooter is easy to explain we, sadly, expect many Muslims to be hate-filled and behave violently but with Gibson you have a man who made a movie about Christ, he is supposed to be a pious and righteous and because he is so commited to Christ act accordingly. People are facinated by hypocricy - especially when they know he has not only never disavowed his father's belief that the holocaust never happened, but seemed to endorse the idea. It's fun to watch him fall on his face.

Keep that in mind when it is your turn...

Why is there this strange idea from some that Christian hold themselves as "perfect"? If nothing else, Christians recognize that man is constantly struggling with his baser nature.

Gibson is an easy target for a Main Stream media that thinks all religion is a joke.

Christians don't slit the throats of people who "offend" them.

Hypocrisy? Not from Gibson.

He will not condem his father's words. In fact he said "My father has never lied to me." Is this really a man you want to spend time defending?

I guess we get the idea about "Christians" thinking they are above everyone from THEIR WORDS. Many of them sit in judgement, tell us we are going to hell for not accepting Christ, blah blah blah). My comments are not about all Christians but "Christians", they should just worry about themselves. I actually don't see much coverage about Mel in the MSM -except for the LA Times and that makes sense this is an industry town.

Your agrument about Christians not slitting throats is off topic but wholly accurate. I have the same thoughts about that all the time.
