Checking in ...
...Got a new car (need a bit of recovery time from the whole car shopping experience...which is why I pretty much drive a car until it just dies before buying another). I realized that with all my kids grown and no more soccer/swimming/band/etc to do a mom-taxi service, I could go a bit more sporty. Got one of these. I haven't had a brandy-new car for over twenty years.

Speaking of stories ... in a rather brilliant marketing campaign, a tongue-firmly-implanted-in-cheek Brawny Academy has been offering a "reality" series where Brawny man is helping eight men ("nominated" by their loving but frustrated wives/girlfriends) become better men. If you haven't been following the episodes, check 'em out. Hillarious.
Anyone else find it a tad revealing that basically, the story of the Seattle moslem who shot-up the Jewish Federation offices, murdering one and wounding four fell off front page news within a day while the media flogs the anti-semite rant of alcoholic Mel Gibson when he fell off the wagon? anti-semite moslem murders .. ho hum ... drunkard uses mouth and says something anti-semite ... the sky is falling!
A side note (commenter blubonnet, I'm looking at you) ... when one is attempting to argue their case that Israel is the aggressor in the wrong, it doesn't really help your credibility to attempt to substantiate your case by linking to neo-nazi websites. Just sayin'.
Last, but not least! Special heartfelt thanks to reader Hugh who hit the tip-jar yesterday. Between my car, Siobhan's return to college and an electric bill I'm going to have to sneak up on after two weeks of triple-digit temps, it couldn't have been more beautifully timed!!
