Breaking News: plane at LAX evacuated
LOS ANGELES - Police evacuated an Alaska Airlines flight Monday after a report that a "suspicious item" was found on board, a Los Angeles International Airport spokeswoman said.Airport police were notified at 8:20 a.m. that there was a suspicious item on board a plane that was in the air after leaving Guadalajara, Mexico, said airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles.
The plane landed without incident just before 9 a.m., Castles said, and all 125 passengers were transported to the terminal in buses after the plane stopped in a remote area of the airport. A Los Angeles Police bomb squad and the FBI will search the plane, she said.
