A few thoughts on the SCOTUS Hamdan ruling
- Keep the detainees at Gitmo until hostilities end.
- Suggest new additions to the rules of engagement to the military ... un-uniformed illegal combatants? Take no prisoners.
- Hope that the President gets another SCOTUS pick before '08, since he doesn't get to pick the editors of the NYTimes

It isn't, Carl. Congress does it all the time. You'll notice that the SCOTUS will cheerfully overturn state law, but is much more circumspect when it comes to federal law.
McCain-Feingold is a prior restraint of political speech, but was upheld. Political speech being the most holy of the holies of speech...
