The Great American Pro-Illegal Alien Boycott Hatefest

I'll be at work Monday. I plan on doing my weekly grocery shopping on Monday. I will plan on doing other consumer spending Monday.

Friday I visited my local Party City and Michael's Craftstore and picked up patriotic bunting, streamers, beads, stars, etc. and we decorated our office, including bunting across the receptionist window that will be visible to the public visiting our courthouse Monday.

One of my friend's mother is from Peru and my friend said she can't have a discussion of the pro-illegal alien events without her mom becoming very upset against what she sees as the ultimate in rude, selfish and criminal actions by illegals. She came to this country legally over 30 years ago, having to wait five years, having to prove she had substantial cash in a bank account, then having to take citizenship classes (history, English, etc) before taking her citizenship test.

There are many, many Americans of Hispanic ancestry that are appalled at this ilk that demands to exempted from the laws of the United States.

Show what side of this YOU are on Monday, by spending money and flying our nation's colors.

I will do no such thing. I'm going to crawl into bed and sleep, like I do every day when I get home from work at 9 in the morning. When you work third shift, patriotic/political displays take a back seat to sack time.

But I still can't change into a bat. I've read the literature, and after keeping this schedule for a while, I'm clearly entitled to turn into a bat. Why can't I do that yet?

Three words - SPEND - SPEND - SPEND! My daughter-in-law is from Indonesia - a difficult trip to becoming a citizen. There are more honest new citizens and aliens than these clowns. The TRUE and HONEST never see the need to be counter RUDE! Great post.

I'll stay out of downtown.

Just makes my case for open borders.

The EU has 'em, why can't north America have the same?

A real common market for North America is what is necessary.

Unfortunately, Carl, I just don't think it would be "common". America would be the one doing all the heavy lifting. Mexico, ruined by years of Socialism and cronyism, is rapidly devolving into the national equivalent of a black hole. It can't even feed its own people.

It would probably help things if we employed Orwellian language tactics: I am pro-immigration, but against line-jumpers.

Anybody who can't tell the difference between LEGAL and "undocumented" immigrants should spend time meditating upon the difference between a son-in-law and live-in boyfriend.

My daughter-in-law is from Poland. She's here legally. Her parents can't even get a tourist visa to come visit her - the quotas are very restrictive and there is much competition inside Poland for the few that are available.

So will I be taking the day off to support "immigrant rights" for illegals? Just keep watching for that flying pig. I'll be on the carpet zooming along right behind the pig, heading for the rally.

Switching topics, I saw an article on Drudge over the weekend that mentioned the huge numbers of construction workers expected to be absent from their jobs in South Florida Monday. An Anglo construction boss irately demanded to know "who was going to pay for the costs to his business". My answer would be that if he was hiring illegal workers, then he is the dumbass that ought to be paying. Otherwise, it's a management problem to deal with workers who want to take days off for whatever reason. In most workplaces, not everybody on a crew gets to take off at one time. In fact, there is usually a max number that can be gone without impacting the business. Workers who decide to take off anyway usually wind up paying a price. Of course, that would be politically incorrect in this case - don't want to offend the felons.

I don't envy you your downtown drive. Isn't that where you work? It will be madness around much of the city.

I'm with Dave. The focus shouldn't be on the illegals but on the jackasses who hire them like Walmart, contstruction companies, restaurants, hotels, etc... You can't blame a person who is living in poverty for trying to provide for his/her family by any means nec. I certainly would do the same. As long as we turn a blind eye to the farmers and employers who hire them they will just keep coming. Punishing the employers seems to be the best way to stem the tide.

I am not anti-immigrant. My father and grandfather were after all, I just think a more global approach needs to be taken. This isn't just a Latino problem, there are huge illegal Irish and Czech populations in this country. We can't get involved with every country but certainly with Mexico we can pressure them to develop their economy, reform the corruption, and pressure them to evolve their society away from the typical third world model where the very few on top have so much more than the greater population on the bottom. There is essentially no middle or working class. Our cleaning lady (green card) used to earn $600 a year in Guatamala. That's in humane.

Fine the EMPLOYERS. Geez, this is not that hard, people. Fine those who are profitting off slave labor and the supply of slave labor will dry up. Of course, costs will also rise, but we here in the US need to come to terms with the reality of our new global economy. If we don't want slave labor, we need to PAY our own citizens a living wage. Which will then in turn buy LESS because prices will rise - for everything from farm produce to home building.

And there's the rub for the corporatists. They've built an economy based on importing cheap foreign goods (from countries using slave labor) and running on underpaid domestic labor (i.e. illegals). Now their wingnut followers don't know which way to turn. They've become poorer living in this economy and they WANT the cheap goods. However, they HATE those brown people.

What a dilemma this is for the Wingnut Battalion. Those politicians don't know which hand to grease first - their racist lowlifes like Darleen or their fatcat corporatists like Walmart. There's no way out for these goons now, is there?

Readers... please note that the drooling troll above keeps playing the same note with no ability to read what I actually write.

See point #2 which I wrote just one month ago

Hmm, actually a very reasonable position, Darleen. (Psst, I don't read your archives, winger, I only came here to gauge how the total disintegration of your winger movement is being interpreted by the most vicious of its sycophants.)

Border control: Now that is a GREAT idea. A 9/12 idea, dont' you think? Why is it that FIVE YEARS after terrorists flew planes into my city, less than 5% of cargo entering our port is inspected? It ain't just the Mexican border we need to worry about. This monkey of a "president" has done literally NOTHING to secure ANY of our borders or ports. Yet you still want to lick his ass. Go figure.

2. Fine & jail the employers. I am with you on that, but again? Why isn't your "president"? He only wants to provide a way to keep the immigrants in indentured servitude (i.e. guest worker). Don't you understand that if the government tries to regulate businesses in any way, the fucking sky will fall in? Geez, what kind of Randian are you anyway?

And nothing explains why in post after front page post, all you can do is spew your hatred of these people who are here illegally? Why don't you focus on these two issues, if they are truly what you care about? I'll tell you why. You have wingnut radar. You know, in that Rovian fashion so many of you surly thugs just feel in your bones, that the real turner outer come election time will be the RACIAL HATRED that is never very far under the skin of any winger. That's why you can only harp on that.

I heard that Perdue, Cargill and Tyson Foods closed on May 1 because of the demonstrations. The actions of these national companies show that they hire illegal aliens. In 1980, the average hourly wage of a meat cutter was $19. Today it is $9. It is the wealthy and corporate America who benefit from illegal aliens. The illegal aliiens are exploited by the wealthy and corporations and the middle class pays for it via reduced wages and government benefits that are used by illegal aliens.
I am personlly not buying anything from Perdue, Cargill or Tyson Foods. None of these companies will miss my dime but I cannot in clear conscience support their policies.
