Worst modern-era President - evah!

Jhimmi Carter on Larry King Show

A fundamentalist though, as I define in this book, in extreme cases has come to the forefront in recent years both in Islam and in some areas of Christianity.
Why, yes, everyday we pick up the paper and read about Beserker Baptists blowing up school buses and restaurants.

Christians = Islamists, yes, that's the ticket.

Jhimmi? Shut up and go pound some nails, putz.

- In support of the idea that the diametric pronouncements pouring from the lips of all prominent Liberals/Democrats these days is evidence of some new mental disability, it seems that poor peanut farmer Jhimmi has finally slipped into total senality, and reverted to his moral based Southern Methodist upbringing. Today he said in public statements that he believes "[The] leading Democrats in my party spend far too much time arguing about abortion. I believe abortion is wrong from every standpoint of morality and Christian values, and therefore should not be argued or supported". Further on he said "[My] party, the Democrats, fell short in the last election because they failed to reach out to voters of Christian based faith".

- I'm counting down the hours before the Liberal Hate Machine excoriates their former darling of the anti-conservative left for such pro-American blasphemies.....

Yeah, let’s just forget the facts that don’t fit our theory about the angelic Christians.

Let’s see, we have the lovely Eric Rudolph bomber.

And what about ol’ Timothy McVeigh? He (and arguably his good buddy Nichols) is responsible for 168 deaths – including 19 children for his little bomb stunt.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m not demonizing Christians – just pointing out that not all of them are angels, that’s all. I may not be a Christian myself, but I try to respect their religion.

And Big Bang Hunter: if you think that all democrats hate Christians, your just naïve.

- Tillman you're no Bill Clinton when it comes to deflecting just off the point of an issue.

The real question is when are the moderates in your party going to get pissed off enough about being dragged around by the rings in your noses by the Liberals, and do something to get back in control of things. Your party has become a gaggle of disparate groups going off in 40 directions at once, wasting its collective time chasing the ghost of elections past, obsessively hell bent on Bush derangement, when the man won't even being running again.

- 2006 and 2008 are just around the corner. Someone in your bunch had better decide soon that your party would be much better served using your energies to develope a viable social program and party platform acceptable to mainstream America, or its just going to get worse.

I find it black humor funny that when the fact of thousands and thousands of people are murdered by Islamists is brought up, people like you trot out ONE or TWO, unaffiliated murderers.

And there is NOTHING to say that McVeigh committed his act of terrorism to further a CHRISTIAN cause. Indeed, he was a POLITICAL separatist... and whatever conspiracies surround McVeigh, it was he was being financially backed by ISLAMISTS, not a rogue Christian sect.

Islamists are/were backed by GOVERNMENTS - Iran, Syria and formerly Saddam's Iraq. Arab-"Palestinian" terrorists are HONORED.

See any streets/schools/sportsteams/newborn babies being named after McVeigh or Rudolph?

There is no comparison. Period.

Darleen~

Yes, the Islamists are probably more dangerous than any other religious extremists since they can commit suicide for the glory of their God (in their eyes of course). I’m not denying that.

But you just need to realize and admit to the fact that we Americans have our own terrorists too. They may not have been clever or self-sacrificing enough to use planes as bombs to kill more people at a time, but there're here.

I just resent your “we’re perfect and you’re not,” simple-minded, self-serving attitude.

You want an example of a “rogue Christian sect?” You’ve never heard of Jim Jones? More than 900 people died under his religious direction.

This isn’t in the U.S., but some sects in Northern Ireland have been killing civilians in recent history too – over Christianity no less. That’s terrorism.

What about the KKK? No, they don’t operate like they used to thank goodness, but that was a terrorism of sorts.

So what’s wrong with saying that religious extremists can be dangerous? That is not the same as equating Islam with Christianity, so your attack on Carter is unwarranted.

Big Bang, you're right. Democrats have a big tent. As Will Rogers said: "I'm not a member of an organized political party. I'm a Democrat."

But you want to talk about “Bush derangement” when the Miers nomination was ripping the conservative party apart? What a mess. Even Bushie’s are starting to lay off the kool-aid now. I believe the right is in trouble, not the left. You sound smart enough to not need a list of the problems conservatives are facing. So I’ll leave you with that compliment.

Tillman

WTF? Where have I said "we're perfect and you're not"?

Jim Jones had to LEAVE the United States to continue his cult and he MURDERED when the US tried to investigate him.

You get over a couple hundred MILLION people in a society as open as ours and there is going to always be crackpots and criminals.

But where the rubber meets the road is whether such people are actively supported by the mainstream and/or government.

For crissakes, law enforcement has Aryan supramicist groups under survellience! The Unibomber was turned in by his own brother.

Why do you have such a hard time with this?

- I'm always amused when I'm accused of defending "Christian values", owing to the fact that I'm a good old yankee doodle jooooo. Of course for those with more than a 6th grade education, on a higher plane the christians learned everything they klnow from thier Uncle Hymie, so I suppose I should be flattered.

- Always right? Not in any universe I live in. Some of the most heineous contratemps of inhumane behavior you could possibly imagine.

But. Under seige from the anti-Christ left. you betcha. Good for the stability of our society and nation. check. A defionately strength of our diverse sociatal fabric. Un-questionably. Worth defending. In a heart beat. But this is all a bit like arguing the outcome of Trafalgar or Gettysburg. Everyone gets red faced, indigestion, needs a shower, and nothing really changes. something like the endless "Get ChimpyMcBush" by the rabid left. Old news.

- Lets start the ball rolling on something current, or about to be current. Namely discussing how Condi is going to put Hillery's tits in the dirt, in a woman-el-woman election run. That and maybe ask questions like how far the Koolaide drinkers are willing to express pure raw racism in order to try to stop her. Something with some Mojo.

- And thanks for the comp. Tillman. I wouldn't be responding to you if I didn't think your were a good head with functioning brain cells. So back attcha....

"Why do you have such a hard time with this?"

Basically, you got your guard up because of what Carter said, but I think you went overboard with it considering the circumstances. By the way, his quote says "fundamentalism ... as I define it in this book." How does he define it? Do you know?

To help explain my viewpoint though - I live in the south where I'm often shunned because of my lack of belief, so I don’t have a lot of sympathy when Christians whine "poor, mistreated me." But I have to remember to see things from your side too. It wasn't exactly PC for Carter to phrase it that way I suppose...
