Cindy Sheehan -- classic cult victim

Pity her.Cindy has been encouraged to isolate herself from her family. Her husband, Casey Sheehan's father, is aghast at Cindy's undignified posturing and, well let's face it boldly, lying. As we know, classic cult tactics is to isolate the victim, turn them against their own families, make the victim totally dependant on them.

And the cults surrounding Cindy would be laughably loony if they weren't so disturbing in their veiled anti-American rhetoric and they way they've gotten Cindy to perform like marionette for a bored, nihilistic "mainstream" media who have become so lazy they cannot even rouse themselves to do the minimum of vetting of Cindy and the cults.

Crawford "Peace" House, themselves, are an anti-Semitic fringe group.

Look at the picture of Cindy and wonder at her "GW was having a party" statement. Cindy needs psychological help. Desperately.

Why do you hate our troops? Why do you hate America? Why do you hate Mrs. Sheehan?

Posted by: Maddie at August 12, 2005 01:55 PM

How can one poor grieving mother drive the right wing so nuts?
Is it because she has a simple truthful message?
All she wants to do is speak to the President again.
GW Bush works for her and not vice versa.
Cindy Sheehan is the Rosa Parks of the Iraq war peace movement.
Abraham Lincoln held open house regularly during the Civil War. Even Richard Nixon met with Vietnam war protesters.
The President gives new meaning to the term "Chickenhawk"
She wants to know why his daughters won't enlist if it's such a noble cause.
She and her family made the ultimate sacrifice.
Cindy is a true American hero.
The Bill of Rights forever!

It's "desperately" Darleen dear. If you're going to slander Mothers who have lost sons to an unnecessary war started by a meglomaniac, the least you could do is use correct spelling. And the only desperate ones are automatons like yourself who are having trouble dealing with a woman who is genuinely expressing her outrage, and gaining sympathy from the majority of Americans who now see the truth behind Bush's sham war. The truth hurts, and it hurts even more when you have so completely deluded yourself into believing in a lying, POS like George Bush.

Posted by: Bryan at August 12, 2005 01:57 PM

Man, what a wack job. Casey's father supports Cindy 100%.

All the right has any more is lies, lies, smears, and then some more lies.

As a great Republican said once, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."

The people are on to your lies.

Posted by: John Smith at August 12, 2005 01:58 PM

Looks like desperation is oozing out of the right wing . Wow, you only love and support those troops and their families if they are Republican, and in the presidents pocket. Click and walk in line with the right, otherwise shut up and sit down. You guys really need to get some of that old time religion that you so often preach to everybody else.

I am sad to see you are so deluded. Wake up and face the music, Cindy is an American hero!

Crawford Peace House is anti-semetic, are you on drugs? That is very possibvly the preposterous statement, even considering the source, that I have ever heard.

Perhaps in the future, you might want to consider basing your writings on fact. Try it, you may enjoy it, if nothing else, it will be a huge change for you!

One of three possibilities comes to mind:

1.You don't understand the workings of free speech and democracy.

2. You're stupid

3. You're a mouthpiece for the "cult" of the Neocon leadership currently sending our country to Hell.

Posted by: Arlene Kelly at August 12, 2005 02:09 PM

Yes, clearly, any woman who takes the grief over losing a son to a war based on lies and turns it into a meaningful protest must be brainwashed, huh? You do understand, don't you, that the war in Iraq has been based on lies, that it is not a war of 'liberation', that there were no WMDs, there was no link to Al Qaeda or 9-11, and we are occupying a country where people don't want us there, don't you?

Of course, your sad, patronizing attitude towards Ms. Sheehan exemplifies the problem the GOP's media spinmeisters and legions of AM radio addled (talk about your brainwashed cultists!) brownshirts have with this woman.. See, on some primal, lizard-brain level, you understand that you can't drag her through the outhouse, smear her like you would a Joe Wilson, or a John Kerry, or a Richard Perle, or anyone else who dares to challenge the brain-dead agenda of your chimperor.. Because she's a grieving mother who lost her son, so the normal Rovian tactics of flinging crap at her head until something sticks have to be, well, moderated. But if she's not an Anti-American dirtbag, well, clearly she must be deluded.. she's distraught... She doesn't know what she's doing. How could she? I mean, obviously anyone who would object to our war in Iraq must have a mental disorder, particularly now that it's going so well... ...right?

No, here's a woman who lost a child, and worse, she lost a child for no good reason at all, unless you consider letting Bechtel and Halliburton raid the treasury, and contractors haul money earmarked for Iraqi reconstruction out in duffel bags to be a 'good reason'. She decided on her own to go down to Crawford, and she has done something constructive with her grief, something that strikes a chord with millions of others appalled at the turn our nation has taken under the misrule of one of the worst presidents in American history...

When the history books are written 100 years from now, assuming the human race has survived the global warming that always seems to "need more study", Bush and his supporters will, hopefully, be regarded as a once-dangerous malignancy on the body of American Democracy, and patriots like Cindy Sheehan who stood up and said "enough", braving the legions of paid rightwing shills and the corporate media filter to get their message out, will be regarded as the true heroes of the era.

It is always sort of shocking when the right projects its own psychoses onto others. Talk about being the victim of a cult!

Posted by: Kali at August 12, 2005 02:20 PM

Correction: I meant Richard Clarke, not Richard Perle. Big difference.

Posted by: Fred Fuchs at August 12, 2005 02:31 PM

Casey's father and siblings fully support Cindy Sheehan's actions. If you got that teeny detail so wrong, why should I trust anything else in this screed?

Posted by: Areyoukidding at August 12, 2005 02:53 PM

WOW, Darleen, which moonbat site ordered all the nutcases over here?

They're practically hysterical about your opinion of that woman! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You really need to update the post with a spray alert before we read the comments, y'know. ;-)

Why do you drive-by trolls care SO MUCH that some of us think she's an opportunist? It's no secret that she was anti-war before Casey was killed, anyway. Get a life, fer chrissakes.

Sheehan Family Statement:

The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son’s good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.

Sincerely,

Casey Sheehan’s grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

Looks like the Dummies got ahold of your website. No worries, these retards have nothing better to do but attack you and "DU Polls". They are the scum of the Liberal party. Here is the thread from their echo chamber that directs to you.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x4331160

No need to go there, they'll just "Tombstone you", then praise themselves for their tolerance and fight for free speech, then pat each other on the tush for a job well done dealing with another Freeper.

your 100% correct in your statement about the "Ditch Bitch".

Posted by: Sandog at August 12, 2005 08:01 PM

GAWD, it figures they came from the DUh. I should have recognized the foam at their mouths. No wonder I found it so hilarious.

Posted by: Beth at August 12, 2005 08:25 PM

Who let the DU inmates out? Is it a weekend furlough, like with Willie Horton?

It's really disgraceful, the way these moonbats have taken advantage of a poor woman who's suffered a breakdown. The really telling thing is that her husband and family are not there, and have disowned this sad spectacle.

RIP, Casey.

Cindy Sheehan is NOT a hero.
Her SON is.
I'm sorry her son is dead. She has my sympathy.
BUT
How can she be holding a sign blaming her son's death on President Bush, giving a thumbs up -- and SMILING?
You tell me.

Posted by: wee fury at August 12, 2005 10:04 PM

Sandog's right about how they treat anyone who show's up in their sand box. They take great pride in ganging up on one person. I can almost see the spit flying. You voiced your opinion in your own corner and they descend like harpies.

These people have hi-jacked a once great party and turned it into bedlam.

Personally, I've admired you for some time, Darleen. Keep up the good work.

Posted by: Oyster at August 13, 2005 07:16 AM

I've read the message from Casey's extended family, but Cindy said that Casey's dad and siblings support what she's doing. I see nothing here to disputes that. Either you need to produce evidence to the contrary, or you need to correct your post.

Posted by: Captain Salty at August 13, 2005 08:54 AM

"These people have hi-jacked a once great party and turned it into bedlam."

You've hit the nail on the head, Oyster. It's sad what has happened to the Republican party.

So, Darleene, when is your daughter joining the Army? I'll be happy to arrange a meeting with the recruiter of your choice.

Posted by: Yohann at August 13, 2005 09:09 AM

Tombstoned?

Pretty ironic term to use considering how many comments Darleen has deleted from this thread wouldn't you say?

Posted by: davebo at August 13, 2005 09:33 AM

I couldn't agree with you more.

Sheehan is a victim of a cult. The cult of death for profit on the backs of middle class and the poor. Who is profiting and who is dying? The ones dying are certainly not the sons and daughters of the ones who got the US into this craziness.

Since you are looking to send your daughter to college, I hear the Army is offering some nice financial incentives for enlisting.

No worries, these retards have nothing better to do but attack you

Bzzzzt. wrong. Sorry didn't come from DU, I'm not a big fan of the site either. However, Check your comment at the door, the irony of it is too rich, thanks for the smile :)

Hello! I'm an idiot who decided to attack the blog host's daughter. I take my ethical cues from the same people who believe that Judge Roberts' preschoolers are fair game!

Please point at me and laugh.

Posted by: I.am.an.idiot at August 13, 2005 10:01 AM

So Darlene, what have you sacrificed for your country, for that most precious of values, freedom.

Have your children enlisted?

That girl for whom you are collecting money, how about she enlist to take advantage of the many college funding advantages it represents?

Posted by: Mouse at August 13, 2005 11:18 AM

"Man, what a wack job. Casey's father supports Cindy 100%."

Damn straight. That's why he filed for divorce.

Posted by: P90 at August 14, 2005 08:00 AM

That's the funny thing. Casey never talked about enlisting with his mom.

Your mom can't tell you to sacrifice for your country. You must live in one strange world.

I notice that ‘The Huffington Post’ has adopted Cindy Sheehan’s rantings and are carrying all her messages and letters. I remember Huffington, and wasn’t she the person who ran anti-SUV ads that suggested that people who bought sports utility vehicles were supporting terrorist? Isn’t that the same Arianna Huffington who drives around in limo’s and has private jets at her disposal? I wonder exactly what would be the ratio of gas consumption between a SUV and a private jet or a limo as far as that goes. Getting back to the subject of Cindy Sheehan, I just read an article she wrote for ‘The Huffington Post’ in which she defends some of her comments about Israel, by blaming them on a former friend. Here is a quote from that article, Cindy Sheehan– ” A former friend who is anti-Israel and wants to use the spotlight on me to push his anti-Semitism is telling everyone who is listening that I believe that Casey died for Israel and has gone so far as to apparently doctor an email from me.” I was watching the news and heard myself Cindy Sheehan say that her son didn’t join the military to protect Israel and it wasnt just my imagination. Maybe deposing Saddam did protect Israel to some degree, after all Saddam launched dozens of scud missiles at Israel as I recall. I believe also Saddam offered reward money for the families of suicide bombers who killed innocent Israeli women and children. So if in the process of removing Saddam, those actions were beneficial to Israel’s security, so be it, and Im glad that’s the case.

Posted by: Sharlene Morgan at August 20, 2005 04:17 PM

The URL in which Cindy Sheehan says a former friend doctored an email is at

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/cindy-sheehan/camp-casey-day-12_b_5830.html

This specter who is according to her, a “former friend” and just happens to be anti-Israel, is of course never named. I am under the impression that this person is none other than Cindy Sheehan herself. Also if you will notice David Dukes is supporting her all the way. Dukes just wrote an article entitled ” Why Cindy Sheehan is Right” its full of the usual anti-semitic invective that he has perfected over the years. Here are some quotes fron David Dukes article.

David Dukes– ” Recently, she had the courage to state the obvious that her son signed up in the military to protect America not to die for Israel.”

David Dukes–” In truth, Cindy Sheehan is absolutely right. Her son signed up in the military to defend America, not Israel.”

David Dukes wrote in his August 14 article that Cindy Sheehan was right in saying that her son didn’t join the military to protect Israel. Since August 14th Cindy Sheehan says that email to Nightline was “doctored by a former friend”. Why doesnt a reporter just ask Cindy Sheehan who this mystery person is who she calls her former friend and who framed her? Also why would anyone need to frame Cindy Sheehan with anti-semitic remarks when she freely does a great job at that all on her own?

Posted by: Sharlene Morgan at August 20, 2005 04:17 PM

In a nut shell, ABC now says it talked to Sheehan and she said she did in fact write the letter in question after all and she did receive an e-mail from ABC confirming that ABC had received it. But she thinks the version on the web has been tampered with.” So let me get this straight, Cindy Sheehan first said a “former friend ” doctored the email and even said this persons gender by saying “he”.

Here is what Cindy sheehan originally stated and I quote ” A former friend who is anti-Israel and wants to use the spotlight on me to push his anti-Semitism is telling everyone who is listening that I believe that Casey died for Israel and has gone so far as to apparently doctor an email from me. People have to know that he doesn’t speak for me. ABC Nightline can’t confirm his email is real and therefore any reporting on it is irresponsible.”

Now that it has been confirmed that she herself sent the email she totally changes her story once again. Now instead of asserting that ABC can’t confirm this mystery persons email and therefore its irresponsible to even report on this particular email, she now says she did send it, but she “thinks” it was tampered with. Im just curious how she could have written it and not really know if its been tampered with , she says now she thinks the web version was tampered with. There is absolutely no evidence what-so- ever that anyone tampered with her email, sent to ABC Nightline in the first place, and how would anyone even know she was sending it? And what is meant by she thinks the web version was tampered with , she doesnt know what she herself wrote and sent? She did the same type of distortion once before when she stated that there was evidence that her son was killed by friendly fire. Later she said and I quote “I have some speculative evidence that he was actually killed by friendly fire.” I just wonder what she means by speculative evidence? I would bet there is no evidence at all that her son died by friendly fire, but it does create that distrust for the military and government that she sets out to accomplish, that is if your very gullible. I dont understand why reporters don’t challenge her on these off the wall statements she makes.
