Wow, this should make us all warm and fuzzy

From the category of "did Kerry really say that?" comes this

"With the same energy ... I put into going after the Viet Cong and trying to win for our country, I pledge to you I will hunt down and capture or kill the terrorists before they harm us."

So when the going gets a bit tough after four months in office, he'll just tuck-tail and run.

Yeah, that'll show 'em, Jo_Ke. That's really going gangsta on their azz.

John kerry did not "tuck tail and run" from Vietnam. He served under very dangerous Swift boat duty. Only after he had served his time did he return to the U.S. and decide to protest the war--something which he and thousands of other Vietnam vets had EARNED the RIGHT to do. He wanted to stop the killing--58,000 American soldiers who died for a mistake. Pls explain to me how that is "cutting and running."
Meanwhile, your hero Dubya avoided overseas service thanks to his Daddy's Texas friends--and then didn't even finish his 6 year Air Guard commitment.

John Kerry went into the Navy when his request for a deferment to study in France was turned down. He went into the Navy and volunteered for Swiftboats because at the time they were coastal patrol only and in his own words he was going to avoid combat.

At the same time, GW went into the TexANG (btw, absolutely no evidence of any preference, despite CBS's attempts to manufacture some 1970's memos on MicroSoft Word) and even volunteered for the "Palace Guard" which would have sent him into combat in Vietnam. He was a superior pilot and as former commanders have said, you don't stick someone in a balky and very expensive jet just cuz their daddy is "someone."

So, Kerry volunteered for Swiftboats to avoid combat, and GW went volunteered to be a pilot that had every posibility of being sent into combat.

Swiftboats were then turned into the brownwater Navy and the jet GW trained on was then ordered out of combat.

Such are the vagaries of military decisions out of the hands of either Kerry or GW.

Kerry has no moral center. So I guess that's why the Left is so enamored of him.

You really ought to do some basic research and not just spew the dKos or Atrios or even democraticunderground talking points.

Darleen, throw the Jerome Corsi and John O'Neill novel out your window and wake up. That's the most ridiculous revisionist history I have ever read in my 38 years.

I never read DU--ever. I read history books and I check my facts on reputable websites. Basic research--How about using basic logic: Kerry volunteered for overseas duty. Bush did not volunteer for overseas. You can read the actual documents themselves online (although I know it won't make a difference because your mind is entirely closed and I have wasted my time trying to argue reality):

By the way, the fact that these are on the partisan Move ON site should not deter you--it's just that I couldn't find the original site fast enough. But never mind. They're probably forgeries. Everything that disagrees with your worldview is a forgery. 1,100 American military dead in Iraq--all forgeries.

Moveon.org??? Reputable?!!??

Give me a break. One of the most Anti-American organizations this side of ANSWER.

So, just what kind of conspiracy makes over 200 swiftboat vets and POW's of the calibur of Bud Day for heaven's sake all put their private lives and reputations on the line to LIE?

Stop chewing the tinfoil, Brad. It makes you cranky.

We have Memogate at CBS, now it's NYTrogate with the times, so infected with BDS and ready to do anything to get Kerry in, it runs with a false story (and it looks like this fakery was peddled to the burned and hesistant CBS first)

There's a saying among lawyers

When the law is on your side, pound the law; when the facts are on your side, pound the facts; but when neither is on your side, pound the table.

Democrats are not even satisfied to just pound the table, they are also pounding Republican voters where ever they can... assault, shootings, fraud, lies, etc.

One definitely realizes the Left has lost it when they call up parents of military personnel in Iraq and say the soldier is "dead", then when the parent is in shock, they say "not yet, but unless you elect Kerry, they will be."

Even Elizabeth Edwards publically states unless Kerry is elected she expects riots.

Niiiiiccccceeee.

Brad

The CBS memos were forgeries. Are you honestly disputing that?

I have a nice bridge you can buy.

Posted by: Darleen at October 26, 2004 01:12 PM

The Swift Boat book is nothing but lies, Darleen. everyone knows that. If you got to my site I have carefully reviewed the whole controversy and can demonstrate how each vet is lying for a reason.

Did you ever stop to wonder why these accusations only came out 30 years after the fact? And in August of an election year?

John O'Neill is a Karl Rove attack dog. This is not an opinion. this is a fact. there is no tin foil in my mouth.

I am not disputing the CBS documents. But Bush took us to war on the basis of forged documents.
Which is worse?

Did you even look at the documents I linked to?

And where are you getting your information about voter intimidation? What about the RNC-backed company Sproul & Associates in Arizona throwing out Democrat voter registrations? What about DIEBOLD touch screens--a company whose CEO promised would delivery Ohio for Bush?
