Strictly Female

This is not only unscientific, but entirely personal. Since Camp Kerry has continued slipping on the proverbial banana peel since Kerry stepped up to the podium at the DemCon and snapped off a salute worthy of Benny Hill, the Angry Left has decided to do a classic case of projection. While GW has never made his Air National Guard service the centerpiece of his campaign, the Dems have decided to act like he has, and have taken to attacking him on it, for the umpteenth time. However, what this has done is fill the media with pics of GW in uniform at that time.

George W Bush, TexANG

That smile, those eyes. Yes. Very nice. Looks like a guy who wouldn't mind talking with you, not at you, during a date.

Now, compared with

Jo Ke testifying about his band of brothers as 'war criminals'

Well, now. Hmmm. Doesn't even compare. No matter how this guy would brag about his fancy car, how many fancy vacations and hobbies he had, he'd still be speaking about himself...over and over again.

Yeeech.

So go on, Dems. Have your minions in the Old Media splashing GW's TexANG pic all over the place. Thank you!

Darleen,
Have you ever seen photos of Abe Lincoln? How about Teddy Roosevelt?

Would you have gone on a date with these men?

Great leaders though, wouldn't you agree?

If you're going to vote for someone based on their physical attractiveness...oh gee, do I have to say it? But the truth is, you've already made up your mind and you're just justifying that choice.

Brad, I don't think that's determining her vote. That's an extremely condescending thought. Look at the photos and try to find character.
The allusion to a conversation with them has as much to do with that as your wishful thought about how a woman votes.

Joe,
I did not say that photos were determining her vote. In fact, I suggested that she was justifying her mind set with these photos.
Nor was my comment intended to have any underlying bias against her gender.

Don't you think it's pretty superficial to determine character with photos? There are plenty of Kerry photos from his Vietnam period that make him look much handsomer. But why should we care about this? Actions speak louder than words, and if you do not find Bush's misleading statements about Iraq's threat to America, and connections to al Qaeda, as character flaws, then I guess we have something more substantive to debate about.

Brad

Would you read the post again...and understand I'm having some fun, too?

I've been to the Lincoln memorial, and you cannot look up into that craggy face and not catch some sense of the soulfulness of the man. Pictures of Teddy R show a robust gentleman with a twinkle in his eye. Both are men who most women wouldn't mind sharing a meal with.

You have a rather superficial sense of what many women find "sexy." Smiles and eyes ... those two very small parts of the package also have a way of communicating about the inner person. Who we choose to go out with on a first date may even be determined on how we react to the unspoken signals a person gives with facial expressions and body language.

Now, understand, I'm speaking of women, not girls.

This is not some sort of "attempt to justify" my vote. I've known for a long time I was going to vote for GW. What, you are only now realizing that? The only Democrat I would have even consider for more than a few seconds would have been Joe Leiberman. That's because I vote according to values.

One last thing about the difference in attractiveness between GW and Kerry ... Kerry just is not comfortable in his own skin. THAT and what it conveys about himself, is what knocks him down quite a bit on the "attractiveness" scale.

Now loosen up a bit. It's Friday night. Have a cold clinky, let down your hair, and have some fun. :-)

Stef

I think I just located the most humourless person on the internet.

Get a funny-bone transplant.

Darleen, you left a nice note on our blog, so I'll do the same for you. I agree with you completely. I vote for principle and character, but it IS nice when the cover matches the book.

Happy blogging!
